End!Brought by Breeze and JI Interactive, Freshflows: Vol 1 (The Rise of Hip Hop) was held at Shenanigan's on 2nd August. DJ Yoe kicked off the party with his mixing of old skool hip hop and R&B tunes; and got the crowd grooving to the beat while sipping on their drinks. The North Borneo Crew then jumped into the scene and dazzled the crowd with their breakdance stunts. DJ Yoe then came back to the centre stage together with the wicked DJ Crazie Fingaz for some awesome clashing of scratching and mixing spinning sessions; and treated the crowd to an extraordinary performance. Breeze then paused the party for a short while to give a little token of appreciation for all the performers and also to call out winners for the lucky draw competition. Seven lucky people collected their lucky draw prizes - CDs from Universal Music, Black Eyed Peas Limited Edition t-shirts, one year membership with Core Fitness and Graffiti toy from Animage Toyz Studio. Atama resumed the party with his ethnic hip hop blend of old Kadazan songs and followed by the wacky Dose Two who both entertained the crowd with their songs and hillarious jokes. There was even an awesome impromptu free style session between Dose Two, Crazie Fingaz and Atama. The famous DJ Nesh then entered the arena and started spinning his old skool grooves which progressed into hip hop dance mix.
This unique visual art and music combination was definitely a different experience for all the club go-ers in KK. Watch out for the second instalment of Freshflows, Vol 2 - One Soul, on 30th August at the same place!
